The competition was designed to provide an accessible international platform through which participants could demonstrate their memory abilities and qualify for UK Memory Master titles.
The online format enables competitors from different countries and regions to participate without travelling to a physical competition venue, while maintaining formal assessment procedures and adjudication standards.

The competition provided participants with an opportunity to achieve UK Memory Master qualifications through formally supervised assessments.
The 2026 UK Memory Masters Qualifying Open was conducted online using the official IMO training and competition system.
The competition focused exclusively on one discipline: Speed Cards.
Competitors were required to memorise a shuffled sequence of playing cards within the prescribed time limit and demonstrate accurate recall.
Each competitor was permitted two attempts, with their best valid performance used for qualification assessment.
The ranking round was designed to establish competitors' preliminary performance levels and determine the order of participation in the final assessment.
Results from the ranking round were used exclusively for ranking purposes and did not contribute to the final qualification result.
The official assessment determined each competitor's final performance and qualification eligibility.
British adjudicators supervised the assessment process and evaluated performances against the published qualification standards.
The final assessment results determined whether a competitor qualified for a UK Memory Master title and, where applicable, the level awarded.
